Quick Help—Start Here

  • Find food near you today: Use the Arizona Food Bank Network’s locator to see pantries and distributions by ZIP code. (Arizona Food Bank Network)

  • Talk to someone live: Dial 2-1-1 (or 1-877-211-8661) for current food resources, hours, and application help. (2-1-1 Arizona)

  • Check the official SNAP status: DES Nutrition Assistance updates and guidance. (Arizona Department of Economic Security)

Where to Get Food Today

  • Food banks & pantries: Search the statewide directory (many sites allow drive-through or walk-up). Tip: call ahead to confirm hours and ID requirements. (Arizona Food Bank Network)

  • Large distributions: St. Mary’s Food Bank lists distribution sites and a “Find Food” ZIP lookup. (St. Mary’s Food Bank)

  • Emergency commodities (TEFAP): Some pantries offer USDA food boxes through TEFAP—ask if today’s site participates. (Arizona Department of Economic Security)

Stretch Your Food Dollars

Double Up Food Bucks (SNAP match): When you use SNAP/EBT at participating stores and farmers markets, you can get a $1-for-$1 match (up to a daily limit) for fruits and vegetables. This program has been modified for November to continue to provide fruits and veggies to families on SNAP.

Visit the “Food Bucks Now” page to learn more.

Check locations and how it works:

Note: The Governor’s Office has announced new state support for food banks and a short-term “Food Bucks Now” style effort to help families during the SNAP pause; watch this page for how/where those dollars are deployed. (Arizona Governor’s Office)

Families with Kids

  • School meals (K-12): Many Arizona schools offer free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch based on income; you can apply through your school or district at any time. (Arizona Department of Education)

  • Apply online (varies by district): Some districts use portals like MySchoolApps for faster processing. (myschoolapps.com)

Pregnant People, Infants, and Young Children

WIC provides healthy foods, breastfeeding support, and nutrition counseling for pregnant and postpartum people and children under 5.

What to Expect Over the Next Few Weeks

  • DES continues to post official notices about Nutrition Assistance (SNAP) status and what cardholders can do now. We’ll link any major changes here. (Arizona Department of Economic Security)

  • Food banks are scaling up. Check the AzFBN locator before you go—sites and hours can shift based on demand. (Arizona Food Bank Network)

Tips Before You Go

  • Bring a photo ID (if you have one) and a reusable bag or box.

  • Arrive early; distributions often end when supplies run out.

  • If transportation is a barrier, ask 2-1-1 about nearby options or delivery programs for older adults and people with disabilities. (2-1-1 Arizona)
